The DairyBusiness Conference 2025 was held last week in Kyiv, with clear messages from speakers and participants

Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, opened the event by emphasising that the dairy sector continues to operate steadily and resiliently. He expressed #gratitude to everyone working in the industry. Milk deliveries to processors are increasing, and the number of livestock in agricultural enterprises continues to #grow. By the end of this year, a positive trade balance is expected. The Ministry maintains active communication with the EU Integration Committee of Ukrainian Dairy.

Alexander Anton, EDA Secretary General, delivered a welcome address, noting the importance of the Ukrainian dairy sector’s presence and perspective. He emphasised that the adoption of EU aquis remains a priority for the Ukrainian dairy industry, resulting in the removal of trade barriers on both sides. According to him, the key focus for the EU dairy industry in the coming years is #resilience — a quality that the European dairy sector can learn from Ukraine!

Continuing Alexander Anton’s thoughts, Elisabeth Svyatkivska, Coordinator of the European Integration Committee of the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, delivered a speech highlighting the progress in developing the Roadmap for EU Integration Ukrainian dairy industry.

She noted that due to the #Vision of the Roadmap, all milk processed in Ukraine will meet European #quality standards by 2030. An interbranch organisation will be established in the industry, expanding opportunities for development and enhancing interaction among market participants. A standard #contract for milk supply and a declaration of the first buyer are currently being developed within the framework of the Roadmap.

She also stressed that European integration is not only a challenge, but also a broad opportunity. She noted the efforts of the Committee, Ukrainian state bodies, business and experts on that path. Also she mentioned the #lessons they learnt during the study tours to #France and the #Netherlands this autumn.
